It was not long ago science denied the spirit which religion had previously parcelled into an easy target for this very repudiation. What now remains beyond this consequence of the so-called age of enlightenment is an entrained mindscape of bits and pieces, of us amid minor concentrations of soulless organisms amid otherwise practically unlimited expanses of lifeless matter, with most within reach meeting the plight of objectification and commodification at the hands of an insatiable marketplace. This is the impoverished dreamscape we call the world. Talk about debasement!
Yet as the problem is simply a matter of perspective, solely a result of the way we are drilled into projecting a monolithic worldview, a voluntary clearing of the mind is all required for its release, for immediate relief towards the rich completeness of our original provision. After all, seeing everything as a collection of separate objects is as arbitrary as locating divinity in the sky; and no less, an abandoning of such externally imposed rules of the mind’s governance as much sets us free from the ghostly products of all manner of ideological possession, freeing us into a re-awakening of our untainted, wholly-seeing nature. Here, the unfettered mind’s homely properties of love and wisdom intuitively proceed, re-membering of the essential non-duality of existence, and the abundant intelligence of it’s endowment.
If you know yourself of a habit of slavishly rehearsed reaction amid experiences of seemingly uncaring community, perhaps you may be able to feel in to this depiction. The cartoonesque delerium of our consensual reinforcement is frequently painful, generally mind-numbing, and summarily unsatisfactory, as the major themes relentlessly ooze forth from a source foreign to the sovereign power of our otherwise unlimited, creative, and unique heart-felt inspiration.
This dire predicament has inspired the establishment of this profile. It is intended as a contribution to our collective recovery, as an initial meeting point for effective collaboration, towards the development of a global network of grounded centres of awakening, providing awareness training practiced through strong community and resourceful living within nature.
My specialisation is zen training, though I have some experience with permaculture and intentional community. I have little knowledge of the coding and development skills required to launch an internet application necessary for the specific purposes of communication, networking, information-sharing, event-organising, and whatever else deemed useful.
An online application may enable the networking of existing retreat centres, providing relevant information on what they offer for individuals who are ready to join a community devoted to the practice of awakening, to embrace healthy community and re-engage with nature. The application may also assist those wishing to establish a local retreat as a self-sustaining community, to provide general information regarding awareness practice, community integration, natural farming and all manner of potential trade and skill development. Of course, this will also welcome the input of developers in online applications.
